Zuppardi’s Apizza
I'm a huge fan of New Haven-style pizza, particularly for its iconic crust—crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside. At Zuppardi’s, they really get it right, which is why I love coming back.
The first time I went was with my close friends Ronit and Isa. Sharing food with great company is always wonderful, and this was no exception. This family-run pizzeria has a warm, laid-back atmosphere that welcomes you in the moment you step inside.
On this visit, we stuck with the classics—the clam and sausage pizzas. The clam pizza was a standout. It featured fresh, briny clams, lots of garlic, and fresh herbs, all on top of their flawless crust that’s light yet still robust enough to handle all the topics. The sausage pizza was equally as delicious, loaded with chunks of savory, house made sausage that was both flavorful and satisfying.
Eating at Zuppardi’s isn’t just about the pizza, it’s also about enjoying a piece of New Haven. The friendly staff and the overall experience make it a place I like to visit often. As my time in New Haven draws to a close with graduation on the horizon, I find myself reflecting on the places that have defined my experience here. Zuppardi’s stands out for being a place of many happy moments during my time at Yale, and I know I’ll be happy to come back whenever I find myself in this city again.
